Moving Out

Why:   For Love, Support and Stability
Where: To a very beautiful country town down in the middle of New South Wales
When:  In only a couple more days
How:   I don't really know, Truck??  BIG Truck?? and a lot of patience...

The short of the story is that a couple of months ago my husband, a self employed tradesman, had to travel away for work, unfortunately the building industry in Brissy isn't exactly booming at the moment so after much deliberation hubby headed south (back to his roots) in an effort to keep our family a float.  Turns out that he just happen to fall back in love with the south and luckily has also fallen back into some regular work as well.  After struggling to live apart for 6 weeks, him in a motel room on his own and me at home, on my own, with the 6 cherished ones, we decided enough was enough and we would move heavens and earth to be together again as a family, like we should be. So... Just Like That, We're packing up and Moving Out!
What adventures await us, I do not know but I am excited, curious and happy with the decision we have made even though it has completely turned my world upside down.
A complete new lifestyle awaits us.
I will miss everything here, EVERYTHING!!
It's our Home, every step I take I see something around me that we created, or planted, so many beautiful memories surround me. We have achieved so much on our property in the last seven years. We have extended our house to cater for our ever growing family,  we added a chook coop, a tennis court, a veggie garden, an orchid and how can we go past The Kitchen!  Aghh!!  My Dream Kitchen!!!  : (
It's been a real whirlwind around here,  I've spent the week saying goodbye to friends and family, I've broken the news to the children and their friends, there has been lots of laughter and lots of tears, and many more memories created...I have been looking into new schools, house rentals (here and down there) selling sheep, giving away chooks,  pulling down my banging wall and generally decluttering and packing up my whole house...
I'm glad I have my  Gooseberry Jam.  It'll be nice to walk back down memory lane anytime I like. I am also glad that I do not have to say goodbye to any of you, nothing changes for us, you can come with me,  see where I end up and what I get up to next.
So I'll leave you for a little while now, I've got Sooo much packing to do and so little time. My lovely friends and family have rallied together to help so I better get back to it. Wish me luck . . .
I'll see you on the other side  : )

Today

Enjoying what surrounds me . . .
It appears there is to be a sudden change of scenery along our path very soon.

Outside . . .

Inside . . .
Closing the door to the end of a beautiful era . . .
Words cannot express my thoughts today,
Bittersweet perhaps . . .
I'll be back soon to let you know of a new adventure awaiting the Gooseberries.

The Juice Factory

What a productive weekend we've all had. In our backyard we have two decent size imperial mandarin trees which produce loads of fruit each year. Mandarins are one of my favourite fruits, they are great to pack into the childrens lunchboxes easy to peal and great to juice up for a refreshing hit of Vitamin C and apparently, they also go well cooked with chocolate. . .

Master Sam is usually the driving force behind our juicing day, his little helpers collect the  mandarins, the kitchen is set up,  and the juicing begins. This is where I usually leave the room with my face screwed up thinking about the sticky mess they are about to create, but the kids don't mind, it's such fun, it 's messy, and of course its Yummy!

We picked over 100 mandarins off the trees and squeezed out about 5 litres of fresh juice to enjoy
and look, we've still got heaps left for those Lunchboxes...
